Senior Quality Assurance Specialist

Acosys Consulting is actively looking to hire a Senior Quality Assurance Specialist to join our federal government client.
 
The client has recently reorganized several branches and require essential Quality Assurance and Quality Control functions in order to test and assist with troubleshooting in multiple environments.
 
Tasks
  • Planning and coordinating the activities of the Technical test team, involved in testing in multiple environments (simultaneously) and re-creating issues found in Production
  • Coordinating test activities with the User Acceptance Testing team
  • Creating test plans and designing test scenarios and test cases
  • Creating test schedules
  • Analyzing test data requirements
  • Communicating with project team and client on defects, issues and build quality
  • Establishing and operating "interoperability" testing procedures to ensure that the interaction and co-existence of various software elements, which are proposed to be distributed on the common infrastructure, conform to appropriate departmental standards (e.g. for performance, compatibility, etc.) and have no unforeseen detrimental effects on the shared infrastructure
  • Creating test reports
  • Providing mentoring and knowledge transfer to other resources or staff
  • Reporting on work progress (on a regular basis)
  • Researching, recommending and assisting the QA manager in implementing quality management policies, process, procedures;
  • Researching, planning and coordinating in quality assurance standards, guidelines and best practices creation and management;
  • Recommending and implementing QA and QC methodologies;
  • Evaluating and recommending software testing tools;
  • Researching, recommending and supporting test environments and test data planning and management;
  • Supporting and assisting in test resource recruitment, training, mentoring and
  • conducting performance evaluations;
  • Assisting in quality planning for new projects;
  • Developing test strategy and management plan on organization wide integration
  • testing;
  • Planning and coordinating quality audits and reviews;
  • Planning and managing cross team knowledge transfer and training
 
DELIVERABLES
  • Weekly status reports of the work scheduled for completion during the reporting period;
  • Weekly detail reporting of problems encountered, proposed solutions, and changes to the work plan;
  • Software Requirements Specification (SRS) documents, including, but not limited to:
    • Business Use cases
    • External interface requirements
    • Data structures /elements
    • Data flow diagrams
    • Functional requirements
    • Non-functional requirements
    • Design constraints
    • Process flow diagrams – as required
    • User Interface (UI) designs – as required
  • Microsoft PowerPoint presentations (slide decks) – as required
  • Spreadsheets and Visio diagrams – as required; f) Assessment reports;
  • Other deliverables as required by the Project Authority.
 
Mandatory Requirements
  • Must demonstrate 10+ years of experience as a Quality Assurance Specialist/Analyst
  • Must provide a minimum of 2 project references verifying subcontractors experience as a Team Leader for a Software testing team
  • Must provide a copy of degree, diploma, or certificate of training in computer science or information technology
  •  Must have experience in the following areas;
    • Planning, directing and controlling the activities of a team of software testers;
    • Managing integration testing;
    • Quality planning;
    • Quality management;
    • Creating test strategies;
    • Writing test plans;
    • Creating test schedules;
    • Writing test reports;
    • Monitoring applications/systems product quality
    • Establishment of a project quality assurance process and procedures that were accepted and used;
    • Establishment of a defect management process for a
    • project that was accepted and used;
    • Coordination of test activities with business group’s
    • user acceptance test (UAT) team;
    • Building and managing test teams;
    • Mentoring testers;
    • Directly involved in project planning and scheduling;
    • Directly involved in project risk management;
    • Analysis of test data requirements;
    • Experience using Toad or Oracle’s SQL Developer;
    • Leading organization wide coding standard/guideline creation, maintenance and audit;
    • Managing organization wide test environment planning, management and usage;
    • Developing test strategy and management plan on organization wide integration testing;
    • Setting up organization wide bug tracking standard and bug tracking tool;
  • Must have experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary application development team, using an iterative software development methodology, with all planned product iterations released, to either User Acceptance Testing, or to Production.
